There are many effective treatments for acne scar removal, depending on the nature and severity of the scars.
It is important to choose the right treatment method to treat scars as if you make a mistake with this, you could end up worsening your skin condition apart from boring a hole in your pocket.

Mild acne usually leaves pigmentation scars which will heal as soon as the acne heals.
These scars will go away on its own as the skin rejuvenates itself by means of natural skin rejuvenation process where the lower layers are constantly pushed to the top and the dead cells in the upper layers get removed over time.
However, you could use a mild Chemical Peel to get this done for you faster and also to get a good facelift.
When your scar tissue, left over as a result of severe acne like cystic acne would not go away on its own. They are usually ice pick scars and require a much stronger treatment to gain relief. Severe acne could also leave pits along with the deep scar marks. Some of the methods that are available for effective acne scar removal are Microdermabrasion, Chemical Peeling and Surgical procedures.
Microdermabrasion is the phenomenon where you scrape out the outer layers of the skin by means of abrasive crystals. The top most layers get peeled in this process and the new skin that grows will be free of scar marks. However, for deep scars, it requires many rounds of treatments. This method also increases the risk of infections and further acne breakouts.
Surgical methods are used to treat deep scars by some people. It has a long recovery time and requires hospitalization. At times, skin grafting is also necessary. Needless to say, this method is risky and expensive.
Chemical peels are the most effective method to treat acne scars or any type of scars, provided you choose the right one. It involves, peeling of the outer layers of the skin by the application of chemicals and the new young skin that is replaced will be free of scars. The strength of the peel will depend on the depth of peeling required (depth of the scar). Chemical peels could be home administered or hospital administered. A lot of people prefer home administered peels as hospital administered ones turn out to be very expensive and run into few thousand dollars.
There are a few chemical peels that are both very effective for treating acne scars and at the same time based on a natural formulation that make it safe for home use and come with a money back guarantee.

Thanks for this great article. It’s really great to read about all of the different options for removing acne scars. For some people, the thought of having an acne chemical peel is quite scary. Another option that I found very helpful is to use Meladerm cream that lightens the skin discolouration and redness, providing a clean skin look. It is also a lot cheaper. Chemical Peels are great for those who have the money available.

Very well organized, direct and easy to read. Describes how to pick a reputable surgeon, explains procedures, what to expect and includes pitfals to procedures. Lots of before after pictures. The author does a great job at presenting the information.

I could not have said it better. This is a subject that is that I often think about and I thought you covered it flawlessly. I only just started blogging too but I’m not extremelycompetent at it yet. Would fancy to look at more of your website and I’ll certainly come back once more!
Chemical Peels may be dangerous specially if you use those high concentrations of Glycolic Acid.*~-
